Objective denial: Zombies prevent survivors from working on gens, unhooking targets, and cleansing totems. Survivors cannot hide, heal, repair or otherwise stall for time in a zombie's vicinity without manipulating the zombie away through crude means. A zombie nearby prevents survivors from holding a location in their effective range. After their control benefits, their next best characteristic is their offensive capabilities.Īrea denial: The zombies are effective at controlling space. I consider this to have two applications: Area denial and Objective denial. So, to start off, I want to talk about Zombies do best: they control space. That experience today is why I'm writing this think piece: Nemesis' zombies are objectively fun, but cannot be balanced to a competitive PVP experience in their current iteration. Why should you listen to me? Idk, but I'm a rank 1 survivor and killer player (Claudette, Wraith, Demopuppy) and I'm a big fan of competitive video games and have a penchant for tournament play and organized competition. Like a lot of this subreddit I'm pumped for the RE Chapter release (I even did a speculative RE chapter theorycraft before the announcement went live) and I've put some time into playing as and against Nemesis on the PTB. Hi Reddit, I'm here to talk to about Zombies. I think the zombies are very fun and the only thing in need of changing is their RNG based implementation. Adding a TL DR Here: I do not think zombies are OP, I think RNG is bad and the zombies should be adjusted in a way that gives control to the killer and gives counterplay to the survivor.
